FILIPE'S BACKGROUND

Isn't dance just awesome!

 

Filipe currently competes on the west coast swing national & European competition circuit together with teaching and DJing at events in the UK and Europe.  

 

He specialises in teaching one-to-one lessons and group classes in:

 

- West Coast Swing  

- Solo Dance (with influences in hip hop, commercial, ballet, contemporary, dancehall and more!

 

And has a passion to give people more confidence and increase their dance skills.

 

 

Filipe was honoured to train and dance at the spectacular London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony at the Olympic Stadium. 

 

He also trains at street dance, jazz, contemporary dance and yoga, having taken classes at Laban, Pineapple Dance Studios and teaching/training with the Hillsong Dance Team.

 

Filipe was awarded the "West Coast Swing UK" Dancers' Favourite Male Dancer Award in 2014, 2013 and 2011!

 

 

He has completed the Professional Dance Instructor's Association (PDIA) course in west coast swing, taught and examined by the fabulous US professional, Michael Keihm of Starlight Studios in California, organised by West Coast Swing UK.
